Eagle Rock stood about 15 miles east of Evanston, off I-80 on old U.S. 30. The Colorado Skier newsletter listed a single chairlift, in 1997 one of the few such lifts left in the country, plus two rope tows and 550 feet of vertical. Its firm records on the area ran from 1967 to 1989, with little heard after, and in 1997 it tagged Eagle Rock as open only some of the time.1
Readers of Lift Blog later added a little more. The single chair was built by Intermountain Ski Lifts Ltd. of Utah and had 55 seats, and one reader reported finding a 1991 article on why the area closed. A visitor in 2020 found the lodge and the chairlift gone, with the top terminal partly standing.2
