Inkpa Du Ta was a ski area with 150 feet of vertical on the shore of Big Stone Lake, on the north side of Big Stone City and inside its limits; the Midwest Lost Ski Areas Project lists it under both Big Stone City and Ortonville, Minnesota. The project gives 1969 as its opening year. When it closed is uncertain: the project puts a question mark on 1979 and notes no mentions in 1980. A Sioux Falls paper counted it in 1971 among three ski areas taking shape on the state's flatlands, and Skimap.org holds a 1978 trail map.1,2
