Counting who skied it…
The hill at 11375 Foley Road in Fenton opened as the Summit ski area in 1947 or 1949; sources differ, and Michigan's Forgotten Ski Areas says it had seven runs when it opened in 1949. Summit was a club that also sold tickets to the public, with a T-bar and a few rope tows.1,2,3

The Kandahar Ski Club, which had run a ski area in the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area, bought Summit in 1964 and took it private as Kandahar in 1965, though it kept selling some tickets to the public through the 1970s. Members worked on the hill as well as paying dues. It grew to 12 runs of 350 to 1,400 feet served by 8 rope tows, plus small ski jumps; a 1978 guide counted eight rope tows and a Poma lift, and MWLSAP gives the vertical as 190 feet. MWLSAP dates the closing to 1995, after which the land was subdivided for houses.1,2,4
