Counting who skied it…
Manitou Valley was a small ski area about 10 miles south of Superior, half a mile north of Pattison State Park off Highway 35. MWLSAP dates it from 1965 to 1975 and gives it 125 feet of vertical; it cites a Duluth News Tribune notice of January 7, 1965, that a new ski area would open that Saturday.1

A 2022 Mix 108 article, quoting the description of a video of the site, gives it a longer life, from 1965 into the early 1980s, with six runs, four rope tows and a ski bridge joining two sides of the area. The site is closed to visitors, and some of its structures still stand.2
