When the Bungalow Hill slope in downtown Hot Sulphur Springs closed, as traffic on U.S. 40 made it unsafe, skiing moved to Maggie's Hill and to Snow King Valley. Snow King Valley opened in 1947 at the far end of a valley about two miles southeast of town, with three long runs on a treeless slope served by a rope tow. It closed in 1952, and its rope tow went on to Granby's Frosty Basin.1,2,3
