History
Written by aurora.ski from the 3 pages below, each sentence numbered to its sources.
Catskill Ski Center opened in 1963 on Mount Pisgah, off Route 28 about three miles north of Andes, running on weekends and holidays. Waldemar Durke and Paul and Emma Grommeck started it. By 1976 it had two T-bars, a ski school, a shop, a cafeteria and rentals, and it held a lumberjack round-up in September and an Oktoberfest in October.1,2
Guides give it 1,050 feet of vertical from a 2,300-foot base, a longest run of up to 1.75 miles, and 15 to 18 trails. By 1978 it was listed as Bobcat at Catskill Ski Center, and later simply as Bobcat. Its 1989 trail map shows 20 trails under a Big T-bar of 3,700 feet and a Little T-bar of 2,200 feet.2,3
Lost NY says it last ran around 2003, while the Delaware County history site gives 2005 as the year it closed; sources differ.1,2
