It closed in 1985, one of several small Idaho hills the Associated Press counted as gone by 1993. A reader on Lift Blog says the Buhler T-bar now at Cottonwood Butte came from Hitt Mountain. Backcountry skiers kept using the slopes of Hitt and nearby Sturgill Peak, some reaching them by snowcat.1,2,3,4
