Mont Chalet was a small ski area on Caves Road in Chester Township, by Chesterland in northeast Ohio. The Midwest Lost Ski Areas Project dates it from 1962 to 1976 and gives its vertical as 110 feet, with 150 as a second figure. Posters on a DCSki forum thread cite a SkiLifts.org listing for a 900-foot T-bar put in there in 1964, and note that a 1976 directory of ski areas names only Alpine Valley in Chesterland. Skimap.org holds a 1975 map of the hill.1,2,3,4
The Geauga Maple Leaf places the closing in the mid-1970s. A local freestyle coach who had skied at Mont Chalet later gave its name to the aerial training center he built at his home in the early 1990s, where athletes practice flips into a pond in summer.1,5
