History

Northmen was a single slope and a narrower trail served by a T-bar, half a mile south of Caribou on Route 1. Guidebooks list it from 1966 to 1973, and around 1970 its name changed to Caribou Ski Slope. The 1973 listing gave a 165-foot vertical drop from a base at 1,000 feet, one T-bar carrying 350 skiers an hour, night skiing and a snack bar. Adults paid a dollar at any time, and local children skied free. NELSAP dates its run from the 1960s to the mid-1970s.1
